This Little Light on Mine

Why do I choose to participate in Halloween?
For one, I have the most awesome superheroes!

I participate because I think this is an AMAZING opportunity to be Light! Remember our fun time last year here or what about our This Little Light of Mine playdate here?

  I can not think of any other day of the year where kids in our neighborhood flood our lawn and grace our doorstep.....

and maybe...just maybe....they will see His light in us.

 

Just maybe they read our goodie bag note and answer His gentle knock at the door of their heart
 

Just maybe the seed is planted
 

Just maybe they feel a tug at their heart

Pumpkin Patch with Friends!

I got to go with Kaitlyn and her precious Pre-K class to the pumpkin patch this week!

 

I would say she's a keeper!

Jackson at Papa's

Jackson spends time with grandma & papa on the two days I work. 

My parents own a RV campground and they have the cutest little helper!

Jackson rides around on his golf cart and helps papa park campers. I really need to get video of this little ball of cuteness waving the campers to their spot.

This week little man got his first tip!!

He is so precious, I could just eat him up!

ASK: Gifts of God...Lesson 2-5

We are halfway through our semester at ASK and boy are me & my Mustard Seeds having fun!!

 We learned in Lesson 2 that God created everything!!!

 

In Lesson 3 we learned that God made us!

 

In Lesson 4 we learned about Discipline and the story of Jonah

 

Lesson 5 had us learning about God's gift of courage and the story of David & Goliath

I had to give the talk to ALL of the ASK kids in big group for this lesson, and let me tell you, I needed some courage!! I feel like God is really stretching me this fall and giving me tasks that seem way too BIG for me. It's exciting and makes me nervous all at the same time. 

Thank you for the amazing opportunity to love on such precious hearts, Lord!

Interrupted

Umm...Hi! This time of year always throws me for a loop and has me trying to find my bearings. The ease and calm and tranquility of summer are definitely over and I find myself juggling to keep all the balls in the air? Am I the only mom who feels this way?

And then..BOOM! God chooses this week to wreck my heart! Really, Lord?

Do I dare tell God, I don't have time for this? (Gulp...did i say that out loud!?)

All this over the story of Jonah and the Whale!!! (the big fish)

Between preparing my 3-4 year old ASK lesson on this story and finding myself 100 pages in to Priscilla Shirer's book "Life Interrupted" God has my attention.

Just like Jonah I tend to run from things that cause hiccups in my calculated plans..and these days I feel my life is so full, things are VERY calculated!

I guess this Jonah had a story or two to tell me. He had a reminder for my soul that I tend to put some Jesus in my life on my terms...not His!

I've put myself in a trap. One hiccup, one moment out of sync, one second behind.....and I panic! My life has become so scheduled that I'm not in the moment! And in the moment I've missed it!

....I've missed the reason for it all. I've missed the opportunity to show His love, I've missed the opportunity to share His heart, I've missed the moment to give Him glory.

Keep pressing Lord...it's only Monday...keeping chipping away at this heart of mine until I cherish the life interrupted!

Getaway

The hubs and I had an amazing opportunity to fly in Chris' company plane Saturday to the Aggie game.

It was a quick trip up and back, but what a treat to eat at our favorite restaurant and walk around the town where my heart just knew Chris would be my sweetheart for the rest of our lives! I heart you College Station!!

ASK: Gifts of God...Lesson 1

We started ASK (After School Kids) CBS (Community Bible Study) this week!!

I am super excited to be the Mustard Seed Coordinator again!! 

 ASK CBS is for K-6th graders and I teach all of the leaders kids (referred to as Mustard Seeds) that are not school age. 

Our program has exploded with five babies, four walkers and twelve 3 & 4 year olds!

 This week I was super proud to watch Little Miss on stage leading our first worship song of the year! She was pretty precious!

 

I love watching all of my Mustard Seeds worship!

  In our lesson time this week we learned about God's gift to us: The Bible! 

I made each Mustard Seed a Scripture Owl.

 

"I'm just a little scripture owl, I'll sit above your bed
It's my job to remind you when your
Bible should be read.

Please put me on your pillow at the beginning of your day,

 hiding His word inside your heart is
God's command today!

When you go to bed at night-
say your prayers and close your door,
I'll be there to remind you
to read His word some more!"

 

 Looking forward to a great semester seeking God and teaching little hearts about the gifts He has for those that put their hope in Him!

Friends!

Chris and I had the best weekend in San Angelo with our best friends Jeff and Cori. We shopped until we dropped, ate super yummy food, and gabbed about all things big and small.

What an absolute joy and blessing you are to us Stewarts!!

1st Soccer Game

Little Miss had her 1st soccer game this weekend!

Chris and I actually went out of town to visit our best friends the Stewarts, but I hear Kaitlyn had quite a cheering section at her first game! We have such a great family!
