Kaitlyn's Prince

The royal wedding and a blog post has got me thinking.

Isn't it every little girls dream...to marry her prince.

I know my sweet Kaitlyn is fascinated with the idea of "her prince". She asks me several times a week, "well daddy is your prince, but who will be my prince? daddy is too "bigger" for me" :) She loves dressing up in her princess costume and heels, twirling around, pretending she is in a royal castle. I was reminded of the scene from Snowhite where she dreams of her "someday" when her prince finally comes....

Who will marry my princess? Her fascination has me already on my knees about the Prince God has for her.

I saw this prayer that a mom prayed over her 4 little boy's princesses' to be....it was too great not to make it my prayer for my little princess. My heart aches for her to be a beautiful represntation of a life adorned with grace and dignity.

And so my prayer for Kaitlyn is....

…She will be a Princess that realizes she is the daughter of the King of Heaven and Earth.

…She will be a Princess clothed in humility and grace, rather than the must-have fashions and trends.

…She will be a Princess with hands that will get dirty for the sake of serving others and with feet willing to walk the extra mile.(Rather than one that demands manicures and pedicures by age seven.)

…She will be a Princess whose “adornment is not merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—  rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.”
1 Peter 3:3-5

…She will be  a Princess who loves unconditionally and forever, and doesn’t run out when her Prince falls off his Royal horse and isn’t as charming as she dreamed. (Because it will happen.)

My sweet Princess Kaitlyn
My sweet baby
turning into a precious little girl
whose heart already longs for her Prince.
May you learn early that God has a beautiful love story for your life
that starts with you falling in love with Him and handing the pen over to His control.
