ASK National Director...God is doing big things!

It has been such an absolute blessing serving at ASK (After School Kids) Community Bible Study these past two years.  Community bible study has been such a vital part of my relationship with the Lord. Loving on my 3, 4 and 5 year old Mustard Seeds has brought my heart such joy!

My life in Community Bible Study  began my sophomore year of high school when I first began going to the Teen CBS class as a student. Little did I know that my life would drastically change in the coming year and how much I would need to lean on the truths I had hidden in my heart.

On February 23, 1999 as a junior in high school I attended my usual Tuesday night Teen CBS group. When I returned home that evening, I learned that my dad and two brothers car was hit by a drunk driver. My dad and oldest brother Zack were killed and Shane had suffered brain injuries. I am not sure how I would have gotten through such a traumatic event had it not been for my CBS family and Gods faithfulness.

In 2000, CBS continued to pour truth into my life when after graduating high school I attended the first ever Capstone CBS for 18-30 year olds.

I moved to Aggieland in 2002 to be closer to my boyfriend. In 2004 after becoming Chris' bride we moved back to Midland.  I knew I had to get involved in CBS and I served as an ETeen CBS (junior high) core leader for 3 years loving on 7th and 8th grade girls.

When the munchkins (K&J) came along, my heart yearned to teach them His word and ASK was the perfect fit for our family!

And so now here we are 2012!
God has stretched me BIG time at ASK. In November I had the opportunity to go to National training in Colorado. About a year ago my mentor and friend Janice asked me to pray about taking over her position as ASK Branch director on the National Student CBS team.

And.... it's official! I'm on on the National Student team and will be shepherding all of the ASK classes in the US. Community Bible Study has been such a blessing to me and if you want to learn more about Student CBS or look up a class in you area visit http://www.studentcbs.org/

Go Aggies...A little elf fun!

Our Elf had to deviate from pointing us to Jesus one day to acknowledge Johnny Football's Heisman award!
Daddy loved it!

Our Elf helps us give

In August, while learning the Letter R and our scripture "Refresh others and be refreshed" here, Kaitlyn and I made a Give Jar. Since August we have been saving money in our jar to give away!

Kaitlyn also decided in August while learning the Letter R that the recipient would be the lady in the green shirt. We learned of this precious lady when we drove to the Habitat for Humanity site daddy was helping building a house. Since then we have been filling our jar with money so that we could bless her.
When our jar was filled, Christopher Pop in Kins reminded us that it was time to give it away.

What a precious teachable moment this has been in our heart. (do you have this book- Penny's Christmas Jar Miracle-it's such a sweet read)

We are not blessed so we can HAVE. We are blessed so we can GIVE.
If you are blessed this Holiday Season, make sure you give to someone else!

Our Elf & Jesus

Our Elf came to visit this year!!
We had so much fun with him last year here that we could not wait for him to pop by!

Santa wrote the kids the sweetest note that our elf, Christopher Pop In Kins, would be popping in on us to remind us what this season is all about!

I'm loving this take on our elf and that each morning the kids are reminded of why we celebrate Christmas!

Meaningful Christmas

Remember last year when I hosted a Meaningful Christmas exchange here
Our family had such a special time turning our hearts towards Jesus here that I knew I wanted to help my friend Lauren get a group together! You NEED to check this out next year!!!
The idea is to get 24 friends together to make ornaments to put on the tree that correspond with a family devotional book.
We add each day's ornament to our Happy Birthday Jesus tree!
The books go on sale around October and sales are final the middle of November. Be sure and look up A Meaningful Christmas on facebook or email them at ameaningfulchristmas@yahoo.com

May you take time this Christmas to Adore Him!
