Learning the Letter I

We learned the Letter I this week!
Our scripture is a goodie!
Philippians 4:13
I actually had to change our scripture to "through Jesus" instead of "through Christ" Kaitlyn could not quite grasp Christ. Daddy even used the analogy that Christ was Jesus' last name. :)

Either way, what a great reminder that God is for us and with Him on our side we can accomplish anything!!
We made yummy Letter I Ice-cream cone cupcakes!
This is such a fun dessert to make!!!

Daddy got to taste our yummy Ice-cream cone cakes too!
Letter J &K we are finishing up our Summer of Scriptures with you!

He's still working on me...

Just some thoughts I'm wrestling with....

"The Lord is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation" Exodus. 15:21

Lord remind me that my heart should sing no other name but You; that You are more committed to my greatest joy more than I am.

Love through me and help me to trust that You are pruning situations & relationships (no matter how hurtful they are) for my good & Your glory.

I could get mad and get even; I could let this get "the best" of me. And at this stage of my life, thank you Jesus! that You are the "the best" of me.
Thank you that others will get love, kindness , and compassion instead of anger, frustration, or rudeness.

Remind me that you orchestrate all things.
"I know that you are for me. I know that You have come now-even if to write upon my heart- to remind me who You are. "

Remind me that You are the joy of my heart, the lover of my soul, and my One and Only.

5 easy ways to surprise and delight your children

I saw a post that made me think of little ways to add more smiles and giggles to our days. These are easy, frugal, and make the everyday seem special!

1. Build a Fort.
You only need some blankets and creativity to transport your little one to a royal castle or a spaceship!
2. Make dinner fun!!
Buy Zoo pal plates and cups. The animals are so cute, and Kaitlyn always gets excited to eat all the food on her plate to see what animal is beneath.

Or, I am asking for this, Funny Food Plate for Christmas.Wouldn't this be so fun!!!
I seriously have fun food ideas running out my ears! Here are a few of my faves!

3. Leave a love note!
This is such a cool idea!!!
Use glow sticks (found at Dollar Tree) taped together to leave a love note.4. Make bath time fun!
Add a few drops of food coloring in an ice-cube tray, add water, and freeze.
Drop them in your child's bath. So easy and literally costs nothing!5. Go on a scavenger hunt!
We usually have a little snack around 3 or after dinner.
One night I made a treasure map for Kaitlyn to follow to find her snack.
You would have thought I took her to Disney Land she was so excited! Do you have any fun, easy ideas???

1st Lemonade Stand

Kaitlyn had her first lemonade stand @ Papas RV Park this week.
She made $7!!
I am loving this stage of preciousness!!

Learning the Letter H

We are learning the letter H this week!
Our scripture for this week is Exodus 20:12

Kaitlyn and had about honoring and obeying your mom and dad. Precious!
We made a fun Letter H Hippo Craft

Trip to Fredericksburg

We took the most needed getaway with the Stewart's this weekend.
Jeff & Cori celebrated their 5 year wedding anniversary with us in Fredericksburg.
Just for fun here is a picture of Cori and I last year at this timeAnd this year (post-babies)
We left Jackson with grandma for the weekend. This was our first time to leave our Little Man, but the hubby and I enjoyed 3 nights to ourselves.

We stayed in a Bed & Breakfast, ate yummy food, Cori and I got massages, we shopped, and enjoyed having a care-free time.

The boys had us rolling the whole weekend!!

We had the most gorgeous weather and spent lots of time outside.
The boys talked Aggie football all weekend;
the countdown is on for Saturdays of football and Fall!
Here's to a great weekend of "being free as we will ever be", late night McDonald's fries orders, hot tub fun, rock-paper-scissors topics, a couples massage and the realization that we are blessed beyond what we deserve.
Love you Stewart's!

Learning the Letter G...Learning to Give

We are learning Letter G this week!
Our Bible verse for Letter G is Deuteronomy 15:10
This verse tied in great with all the giving we did last week to kids in Africa.
As we talked about giving to others, Little Miss spotted a lady on the side of the road holding a sign that read homeless. This is not our first encounter with those in need, Kaitlyn seems to spot them a mile a way.

She said, Mom, did you know that lady doesn't have a mommy, or a brother, or a dog?"

I jumped right in and told Kaitlyn that her sign said she didn't have a house to live in either and asked Kaitlyn if she thought Jesus would like for us to give to her.
"Yes!!!" she said. So we changed lanes and stopped right under the loop to give the lady some money.
Our hearts felt good.
We sort of had to backtrack to get back on our route to our house and as we turned around to get back on the loop, there was a man just a block down from our homeless lady who was also holding a sign.

"Look mom!" Kaitlyn said. "Jesus wants us to help that man get a house too"

My heart smiled and I was so grateful for the extra cash I had sitting in my wallet for us to give.
I am learning to see that opportunities to give to those in need are all around us, if we just look.

Two year's ago we gave our family and friends a book called "Penny's Christmas Jar Miracle"and a canning jar for Christmas presents.

This book is so precious and I thought it would be great for us to make a Give Jar.
We used tissue paper and mod podge to decorate our Give Jar

We are going to fill our Give Jar with change/cash until it is full and then give it away to someone in need.
To learn even more about the Letter G we made a Letter G Giraffe hand print craft
Have I mentioned how much Little Miss LOVES painting!!!
We are going to try to make it to letter K before Kaitlyn starts back to Mother's Day Out.
Letter H is up next!
