Vegas!!!
This past weekend Chris & I took a quick trip to Vegas with our friends Byron & Victoria. We had the most amazing time!! Vic and I spent all morning at the spa (Happy Mother’s Day to me), the boys went golfing, we shopped, ate way too much, and saw Jersey Boys! We had such a good time, but I think we were all ready to get home to see our babies. Ellery and Kaitlyn are BFF’s, just like their mommies! : )
More on Proverbs 31 and Being a Mom
Proverbs 31:28
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
I received a devotional this week that has me thinking even more about being a mom and a woman after God’s heart.
Being a mother is the most fulfilling, frustrating, exciting, exhausting, mind-boggling, hair-raising thrilling tiring, stimulating, soul-stirring, delightful, difficult, consuming, laborious, uplifting, inspiring, challenging, captivating, and rewarding job I've ever had. Did I mention difficult? I should have gotten a clue when I was told that having a child begins with a word called "labor."
My only prayer is that I plant seeds of character, pull weeds with discipline, water with prayer, and fertilize with encouraging words. To keep praying, keep encouraging, keep loving, loving, loving........ and one day Kaitlyn will "rise up and call me blessed."

3 Little Letters...
It's amazing how 3 little letters have changed my life...MOM. I can not even begin to express the miracle God has given us in Kaitlyn. I understand love in a whole new way.
I got an idea from cousin Allison, so here are 3 word phrases to sum up what a difference being called MOM has meant.
surprise you're here, not enough sleep, more milk please, I said no, you are everything, my snuggle buddy, pink piggy tails, cartoon network rocks, college fund savings, what free moment? swing slide & sand, tutu dress-up days, late nights stink, bath time bubbles, mommy's big helper, lunch with dad, sweet slobbery kisses, play dates w/ friends, Papa's sweet angel, ice cream treats, purses purses purses, dancing with daddy, picnic basket lunch, life's never same, love you more.....
Love you sweet girl...what a blessing to be your mom.

My new favorite night...
My new favorite night is Friday. Boy have times changed since Kaitlyn was born.
I used to look forward to Friday nights to go out and eat dinner and hang out with friends. Now, I look forward to Friday nights to stay at home with my family.

We have officially declared Friday nights as "Grill Night". My hubbie is quite the little cook (especially after Kaitlyn and I got him a new grill for Valentines
Day). I am so in love with my little family.
I dare you to find a flaw...
My sweet little hubbie spent all weekend painting stripes in Kaitlyn's new room. At the old house, we had green vertical stripes covering all the walls. It was super cute, but sometimes I felt like I was walking into a circus tent! Do you see what I mean?
Thanks to our engineer-minded husband, I dare you to find a flaw! These are the straightest lines I have ever seen!!

We decided to keep it simple this time and just do a few stripes in the middle of the wall. I think it turned out cute! Once we get everything hung on the walls and a big pink rug on the floor, there will be plenty of color...trust me :)
Thanks dad!!!
