Miss Rosey Posey and The Fine China Plate

I am incredibly blessed to serve at a bible study called E-Teen CBS. E-Teen is a community wide bible study targeted for 7th & 8th graders. I have 9 precious teenage girls in my group this year. Monday night, we were able to share with all of our girls the story of Miss Rosey Posey and The Fine China Plate.

The book is birthed from the scripture in II Timothy 2:21 that says
“In a well-furnished kitchen there are not only crystal goblets and silver platters, but waste cans and compost buckets—some containers used to serve fine meals, others to take out the garbage. Become the kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing.”

The story explains how we are set apart for God’s purposes. We were able to teach these girls about their inward and outward purity. It was such a special time, not only for the girls…but for me as well! We sent the girls home with a china plate to help them remember that we are not a paper plate..so we should not act like one! And we should not let others (boys!) treat us like we are a paper plate. In my talk to the girls I talked about purity of our souls and wanted to share a couple of truths with you.

You are apart of God’s eternal dream. You are treasured, loved, and valued. You have captured God’s heart and He is in love with you! There is nothing that you can do to separate you from His love. In Song of Solomon Jesus says” All beautiful you are, my darling there is no flaw in you.” You have the eye of the God of the Universe and He is pursuing a love relationship with you! You have been set apart and the beauty of your life is the unfolding of His plan for you!
