Hiding His Word Tips

Wowza!! Loving all of the comments and questions that have come in this week about how I taught Kaitlyn a scripture for every letter of the alphabet. My inspiration came from these sources.

We also searched youtube or godtube for any of these scriptures to song. Putting a scripture to song or making up motions to go with the words were the easiest scriptures for Kailtyn to memorize. Here are  a few sources.

I have also listed out all of the scriptures Kailtyn and I learned together in one spot...use these as inspiration and find scriptures that will really speak life into the little heart or hearts in your care. Can't wait to hear how God blesses your family through the mediation of His word!

Here is a link to all my posts related to ABC Scriptures :

And if your little one is too young to memorize, check out the God Made Me! days I started doing with Kaitlyn when she was 2.

August is Here!!!

August was jammed packed full of fun!!
Our sweet family headed to Canyon lake for 5 days of camping, smores, fishing, and fun!

The kids and I spent lots of afternoons planning Hedbandz.
Do you have this game? Such a fun family game!

Mommy also got to go on a Girls Get-a-way to Santa Fe

We spent a couple days at the Library

And hanging out with sweet friends

Sweet August you have us ending with Kindergarten...more to come on this subject!

Learning the Letter X and Y and Z!!!!!

We are on the countdown to Kinder and down to 3 more letters!!
Letter X had taught us to Xamine.
(I know..I know..if you are a teacher I am in trouble!)
We learned what the scripture means to ask God to search our hearts and get rid of things that are not pleasing to him.
We also did a fun Xylophone craft
Letter Y was so so special for me to teach Kaitlyn.

We gear up for Kindergarten in public school in 4 days. I really feel God's tug to be "Lights" for Him in our school.
This video just melts...my...heart

I know you have heard me mention the book Going Public and how 3 years before school was even apart of my vocabulary, God began to press in..and speak to my heart about what His plans were for our little family.
Going Public: Your Child Can Thrive in Public School -
By: David Pritchard, Kelli Pritchard, Dean Merrill
There is no doubt my Little Miss and our presence in our neighborhood school will be for His Glory.
We gear up to start Kinder tomorrow as we wrap up our last scripture.

Letter Z has us in Zephaniah. We learned the first part of this scripture with Letter M and now learn the rest of Zephaniah 3:17....
"He will take delight in me, calm my fears, and rejoice over me with singing"

You are ready Little Miss.... mommy has tried to imprint these truths upon your heart...to talk about them in the everyday rhythms of life..to live out out Deuteronomy 6:7.

I can't wait to see what God has in store for you Kinder Kaitlyn

Learning Letter W...

We had way too much fun learning letter W
So much that this Mama almost did not want to move on to the next letter!
Kaitlyn and I started talking about the World. Still, such a hard concept to a little one.
Our sweet friends the Elders http://theelderadventurers.com/have opened Kaitlyn's eyes to ALL the little children of the world and swayed most of her decision when we decided to sponsor a child that lived on the opposite side of the World from us through Compassion International.
Kaitlyn picked a little girl from Africa who is 5 years old named Karidia.
We cant wait to send our sweet Karidia letters and learn more about her and her family.
The Elders also helped us learn about another letter W word..Water.

Stephen Elder used his birthday to raise awareness about the lack of Water in other countries. Kailtlyn had a lemonade stand to contribute to the cause and made $18.41 to go towards little ones just like her having access to clean water.
Read more about this cause here http://theelderadventurers.com/2013/08/anybody-story-18-stephen-elder-my-hubby/
We also talked about other Letter W words.. like...the Weather

And our Letter W scripture...to WAIT on the Lord.
Such another hard concept of a little one...who I am kidding...mommy needed to memorize this scripture the most. Letter X & Y you are up next!
